Beaverwoods Cricket
1988-2004
14,1hh registered Half Welsh-Half TB.
This pony stood at stud at Beaverwood Farm for 7 years. His sire was Colwyn Gruffudd, a Section A Welsh. He was out of the thoroughbred mare You'll Never Know. He was one of Canada's first hunter pony stallions. Standing at stud from 1990 to 1995.
In the year he was gelded he placed Reserve Champion large pony in the green pony division Ontario Provincial Awards for Equine Canada, and placed in the open large pony division at the 1996 Royal Winter Fair with Jackie Tattersall in the saddle.
Cricket also did carriage driving as well. We had 12 foals from him; Tigerlilly, Lady Slippers and Strawberry were all retained as broodmares at Beaverwood Farm. His blood lines continue today through these wonderful mares. Cricket was sold as a hunter pony in 1999 to New Jersey.
